The First Signs of Transformation

Duane and I have been following the program for a very short time. Today is our fourth day in. I wouldn't expect much in such a short time but that is not the case!

In a nut shell I have more energy. I want to get up and get things done. I have clarity of mind and can remember what I wanted to get done when I get up to do it! Stiffness in my joints, that I didn't even fully realize how bad it was, is going away. Even my fingers and hands look and feel different~not as pudgy and stiff. Then there is the amazing weight loss (6 pounds since Tuesday am) part of it all and the inches that are apparent when I slip on my jeans. Duane also said his dress pants were more loose in the waist this morning as well. He does not have a scale on the road to weigh himself so ya'll will just have to wait until Monday for his weight loss numbers!

All in all it has been so easy to follow the program. I don't have to think about what to eat. I just make sure that I am eating every 2-3 hours and then I get to choose what I want to eat for my lean and green and that is it! Yesterday, however, I wanted Pizza in a really REALLY bad way. Thank you Flying Pie Pizzeria for posting that beautiful picture of hand tossed pizza perfection! lol Then my Father-In-Offered to pick up some Little Cesar's Pizza for the kids. But I passed the test!! Not one bite of pizza passed these lips!

Some Needed Changes~Scaling Down!

It's January and many of us made the New Year's Resolution of losing weight and getting healthy. Duane and I have been looking for a way for us to work it in to our crazy lives with him traveling so often we just didn't know how to do it. Then we found out about this program that was so easy to follow even when you travel often and promises fast and safe weight loss~2-5 pounds a week! 

We are so excited about starting our journey to get healthy....Today we got on the scale and measured hips, waist, stomach, bust, arms...facing the hard reality and ready to move on to getting fit. Through the years we've tried to "be healthy" by eating the right stuff and cutting out carbs and desserts to no avail. 

So, what's different this time~besides being really motivated? We came across a program called “Take Shape For Life”.  TSFL is an excellent program with so much support built in and includes rapid, safe weight loss. The best part though is that it is a very comprehensive program that teaches its clients how to keep their weight off through a 12 week self study plan while losing weight AND focuses on learning to live a longer, healthier life, not just losing weight. As we have been reading up on the program and all the research that has gone into “Take Shape For Life” we get excited that this program does work and will work for us! Johns Hopkins Medical University did the documented, clinical research for this program and Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center has used this program's Medifast Portion Controlled Meal Replacements for 20 years for their patients very successfully. 

For our kick off day~if I am brave enough~I will post our before pics maybe later today. For so many years I have hid behind others in pictures or better yet always held the camera to insure that I would not be in any photos. Today starts a new journey of changes where we will become less like our before pictures and more comfortable being in pictures!

Each week we will post our weight loss and each month a new picture of our progress. We also will be posting through the week about our successes and struggles. Hoping that you will follow along on the blog and post how you are doing on your weight-loss journey no matter what program you are following or how much you have to lose.
